The public is reminded by the government to request electronic tax invoices or e-receipts for their purchases of products or services in order to benefit from the “Easy E-Receipt” tax reduction measure.

To stimulate the economy, individuals can claim a personal income tax deduction of up to THB 50,000 for the purchase of qualifying goods and services from January 1, 2024, to February 15, 2024, supported by electronic tax invoices or receipts.

The beneficiaries of the Easy E-Receipt program are individual taxpayers only, excluding ordinary partnerships and non-corporate groups.

You cannot claim a tax deduction for the purchase of the following goods or services:

  • Purchase of liquor, beer, wine and tobacco products
  • Purchase of motor vehicles, motorcycles and boats
  • Petrol or gas for motor vehicles
  • Utility, water, electricity, telephone and internet service charges
  • Service fees paid for services that can be used after 15 February 2024 e.g. membership fees
  • Non-life insurance premiums

The electronic tax invoices must be issued to a single purchaser of products or services. The address of the purchaser should either match the one on their identification card or be their current address, even if it differs from the address on their corporate income tax return. The expenditure must occur within the specified period.

Expenses on food at hotels are also eligible if the hotel can issue a full electronic tax invoice. Costs for domestic tour packages are also eligible.

Additionally, expenses for vehicle repairs are eligible for deductions. Purchases of gold jewelry are deductible only for premiums, provided these business operators can issue electronic tax invoices.
