The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) commemorates the 50th anniversary of Thai-Chinese diplomatic relations with grand Chinese New Year celebrations across Thailand, enhancing cultural exchange and tourism.
Celebrating Diplomatic Ties
In a grand gesture, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) launched the Chinese New Year 2025 celebrations, emphasizing 50 years of diplomatic ties with China. Hosted at Yaowarat Road, CentralWorld, and nationwide, these celebrations reflect the flourishing Thai-Chinese cultural relationship. Mr. Sorawong Thienthong, Minister of Tourism and Sports, highlighted the significance of this milestone in strengthening cross-cultural bonds and promoting Thailand‘s vibrant traditions in conjunction with the ‘Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025′ strategy.
Nationwide Festivities
CentralWorld hosted events from 28 January to 2 February, featuring cultural exchanges between Thailand and China, including hands-on demonstrations and shows by Chinese troupes. Additionally, regional celebrations, such as the Suphan Buri Chinese New Year and Hat Yai‘s festivities, offered cultural performances and parades. In Nakhon Sawan, the Pak Nam Pho parade showcased Chinese-style decorations. These events foster cultural connections amidst the era of visa-free travel between the two nations.
Ensuring a Safe Celebration
With safety as a priority, the Tourist Police implemented stringent measures, establishing the Tourist Safety Operations Center and using AI-powered surveillance for enhanced security. Aiming for tourist safety, advanced technologies like the Thailand Tourist Police Application provide rapid assistance. The celebrations are expected to boost tourism revenue, with projections for substantial visitor arrivals and a significant rise in tourism-generated income, largely driven by the East Asian market.
