Chinese real estate firm Beijing Haoyang has been approved to build a 300-megawatt data center in Thailand, marking its first data center outside China. The project, valued at $2.2 billion, is the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia.

The Thailand Board of Investment also approved other projects worth approximately $5.9 billion in the rail and digital infrastructure sectors. One of these is the Bangkok Expressway and Metro PCL’s investment in the Orange Line, a transportation link connecting Bangkok’s western and eastern suburbs.
The Board also approved three data center and cloud services projects, including Beijing Haoyang’s, with a total investment of 90.9 billion baht and a combined IT load of almost 350 MW. These projects aim to strengthen Thailand’s infrastructure in the digital economy era.
