Philippines and Canada Initiate Free Trade Talks in 2025

In early 2025, the Philippines and Canada officially began exploratory negotiations for a free trade agreement (FTA). This move aims to deepen economic ties and modernize trade regulations. Given their strong collaboration across sectors such as technology, agriculture, education, clean energy, and infrastructure, the agreement is anticipated to boost trade by reducing tariffs, enhancing investor protections, and expanding market access for both nations.
