**Fighting between Thailand and Cambodia has killed at least 15, displaced over
120,000, escalated tensions, and prompted calls for ceasefire, regional mediation,
and international diplomatic efforts amid ongoing border clashes.**

Fighting between Thai and Cambodian troops has resulted in at least 14 fatalities
in Thailand and one in Cambodia, with over 120,000 civilians fleeing the violence
along their border. The conflict has escalated into the worst military clash in
more than a decade, involving heavy artillery and rockets. Both nations blame each
other, and efforts for a ceasefire are underway, with Cambodia backing a proposal
from ASEAN’s chair, Malaysia, but Thailand withdrawing its support.

The violence has expanded to 12 border locations, pushing thousands of residents
to evacuate. Thailand has declared martial law in border districts and is providing
aid to displaced civilians. Meanwhile, regional and international actors are calling
for de-escalation, and the UN plans an emergency security council meeting to address
the hostilities.

The border conflict traces back to a colonial-era map from 1907, which Cambodia
claims as its boundary, while Thailand disputes its accuracy. International responses
include calls for dialogue from China and the US, reflecting the broader regional
concern over stability. The situation remains tense, with fears of further escalation
into a wider conflict.
