**Singapore’s 2025 growth forecast has been raised to 2.5% following robust performance
in the first half, while the 2026 projection is adjusted down to 1.5%. Key risks
center around US tariffs, with central bank policy remaining steady.**

Singapore’s economy continues to navigate global uncertainties, with analysts closely
monitoring trade dynamics and geopolitical developments. The steady central bank
policy reflects confidence in managing inflationary pressures while supporting sustainable
growth. Additionally, sectors like technology and finance are expected to play pivotal
roles in driving economic resilience, though external risks such as fluctuating
commodity prices and regional tensions could influence longer-term projections.

**Key View**

 * We have revised up our 2025 growth forecast from 1.8% to 2.5% following a strong
H1, but revised down our 2026 forecast from 2.0% to 1.5% as front-loading of
   exports will diminish.
 * The risks to our forecast are balanced and depend largely on US tariffs.
 * We estimate that the output gap turned positive in Q2, and now expect the central
bank to maintain all policy settings in its July review instead of easing further.

**We have revised up our 2025 growth forecast from 1.8% to 2.5%** (see chart below),
above the official projection of 0-2%. Singapore avoided a technical recession,
with advanced estimates on July 14 2025 showing that real GDP grew by a seasonally-
adjusted 1.4% q-o-q in Q2, after contracting by 0.5% in Q1. On a y-o-y basis, the
economy grew by 4.3% (BMI: 4.5%; Bloomberg consensus: 3.6%) in Q2, accelerating
from an upwardly revised 4.1% in Q1. This brings H1 2025 growth to 4.2% y-o-y.

Singapore’s economy is poised for remarkable growth by 2025, likely surpassing official
estimates. Analysts predict that the robust recovery from the pandemic, coupled
with strategic investments in technology and sustainability, will drive this growth.
The nation’s emphasis on innovation and digital transformation gives businesses
the tools they need to thrive in an increasingly competitive global market.

Key sectors such as finance, biotechnology, and green technology are expected to
experience significant expansion. The government’s pro-business policies, including
tax incentives and support for research and development, are instrumental in attracting
foreign investment. Additionally, Singapore’s strategic location as a trade hub
in Southeast Asia further supports its economic resilience and growth opportunities.

As Singapore continues to diversify its economy and enhance its workforce capabilities,
it solidifies its position as a critical player in the region. With a forward-thinking
approach, it is well on its way to not only meet but exceed growth expectations
by 2025, setting a benchmark for other nations to follow.
