The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) hosted a conference on 8 December at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre in Bangkok, welcoming over 9,000 Chinese entrepreneurs in agricultural products and technology from all over China. Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, and other prominent figures jointly presided over the welcome ceremony. The conference was organized by Mr. Jiang Zhengjun, Chairman of Heilongjiang Liangtou Grain Investment Group.
Visa Exemption for Chinese Tourists
Thailand has recently granted visa exemption to Chinese tourists, reflecting the market’s confidence in the country. During this period, Chinese tourists will be granted a temporary visa exemption for a 30-day stay for tourism purposes. This move aims to boost the country’s position as the preferred destination for Chinese travelers.
Thailand Welcomes Chinese Visitors
From 1 January to 3 December 2023, Thailand welcomed 3,130,029 Chinese visitors. China ranked second after Malaysia in the top five visitor markets, showcasing the growing importance of the Chinese tourism market for Thailand. Through initiatives like the visa exemption, Thailand aims to further strengthen its position as a favored destination for Chinese travelers.
