Bangkok ranks 7th globally for international conventions in 2024, with 13 Thai cities making the ICCA rankings. Thailand leads ASEAN, showcasing significant growth in the MICE industry.
Bangkok has achieved remarkable success by rising to the 7th position among global cities for international conventions, according to the ICCA Rankings for 2024. This advancement marks a significant jump from its previous 15th place in 2023. Additionally, a record 13 Thai cities made it onto the ranking table, showcasing Thailand’s growing prominence as the top convention destination in the ASEAN region.
In 2024, Thailand hosted 158 international conventions, moving up to the 25th spot globally and holding the 5th position in the Asia-Pacific region. Bangkok specifically hosted 115 conventions, enhancing its reputation as a key player in the MICE industry. The rise in rankings has drawn attention from international associations, further solidifying Bangkok’s appeal as a host city.
Mr. Puripan Bunnag from the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) expressed pride in the performance of Thai cities, emphasizing their diverse offerings for conferences. He underscored the importance of enhancing operating standards to meet evolving market demands. TCEB’s ongoing efforts aim to position Thailand as a premier destination for MICE events, leveraging its unique cultural settings for memorable experiences.
