Thai authorities are investigating a second crane collapse by the same construction firm within 24 hours, this time in Samut Sakhon, killing two. The previous incident in Nakhon Ratchasima involved a crane falling on a train, resulting in 32 deaths. The incidents highlight ongoing safety concerns in Thailand’s construction sector.

Multiple Road Collapses and Ongoing Investigation

In Bangkok, a major highway experienced a sudden collapse overhead, highlighting the danger of infrastructure failures. Shockingly, within 24 hours, a similar incident happened involving the same construction company, raising concerns about safety protocols. Three hours east of the first accident scene, cleanup crews work tirelessly to clear wreckage and allow traffic to resume, revealing the extent of the destruction.

High Victim Toll and Forensic Probes

The high number of casualties and the gruesome nature of the injuries have prompted an urgent, high-profile investigation. Authorities, including forensic police and criminal investigators, are meticulously examining the site for evidence. Representatives from the State Railway of Thailand, construction contractors, and forensic teams are all working together to uncover the causes. The investigation aims to determine accountability as officials emphasize that such catastrophic accidents are unfortunately common in Thailand, and justice for victims remains a challenge.
