Belt and Road Summit 2017: AIIB Support by HK

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is expected to have great investment finance support from new member Hong Kong, according to Luky Wuryanto, the Bank’s Vice President and Chief Administration Officer. Hong Kong will be an operational site for finance while the Belt and Road Initiative lies at the “heart of the mission” with the AIIB dedicated to infrastructure investment.

According to Thailand’s Industry Minister Suriya Jungrungreangkit, the company will have an annual production capacity of 80,000 vehicles and will begin producing sports utility vehicles and pickup trucks in 2021.

Hong Kong’s US-Bound Exports to be Labeled ‘Made in China’

Goods produced in Hong Kong and exported to the US must be “marked to indicate that their origin is China”, according to a notice put out by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on August 11, 2020.

This ‘Made in China’ labeling requirement on Hong Kong products was originally to take effect on September 25. To give Hong Kong exporters more breathing room to switch the labels, the US CBP has extended the enforcement date by 45 days, to November 9.
