# Mazda Commits $150 Million to Establish Thailand as an Electrified SUV Production Hub

Mazda has maintained a strong presence in Thailand’s automotive market for over 
70 years, operating two advanced manufacturing plants in the country.

 * Mazda Motor Corporation is investing 5 billion baht (US$150 million) in Thailand
   to establish it as a manufacturing hub for its electrified compact SUVs, with
   an annual production capacity of 100,000 units for both domestic and international
   markets.
 * The investment will enhance production lines in Mazda’s existing plants in Thailand,
   supporting hybrid and EV technology, and marking a significant step towards the
   gradual transition to xEV production.
 * This move reaffirms Mazda’s commitment to Thailand, endorsing the country’s capabilities
   and policies to support electrification in the automotive industry, and is expected
   to contribute significantly to the development of Thailand’s automotive industry
   and economy.
