SCN-CHO joint venture likely to clinch Bangkok Mass Transit Authority’s NGV bus project
The SCN-CHO joint venture, is mostly likely to be awarded with the contract to supply 489 NGV buses to the city bus operator at a cost of 4,020 million baht
The only bidder for the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority’s NGV bus project, the SCN-CHO joint venture, is mostly likely to be awarded with the contract to supply 489 NGV buses to the city bus operator at a cost of 4,020 million baht
BMTA president Nuttachat Charuchinda said Thursday (Dec 7) that negotiation between BMTA and the bidder would be accelerated so that the bid could be concluded and ready for the board’s approval on Dec 20 and a contract could be signed by year-end.
Once the contract was signed this month, he was confident that the bus fleet would be delivered within 150 days in time for the opening of a new school semester in June, said Mr Nutthachat, adding that a clause in the bidding term requiring the successful bidder to deliver the first lot of buses earlier has been deleted.
Karin Chayavisut, project manager of Cho Thavee Public Company Limited, a partner in the SCN-CHO Cooperation, said that the company decided to join the auction because it has trust in the BMTA even though the median price of the bus fleet was tough.
But with a partner which has a strong backing on natural gas, he said that the risk involved would be acceptable.
The buses, BLK brand, will come from Jiangxi KAMA business bus company in China.
Cho Thavee Public Company Limited (CHO) on Dec 7 informed the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) that the company has formed a consortium with Scan Inter Public Company Limited in the name of “SCN-CHO Cooperation” with responsibility at a ratio of 50% each to co-propose the quotation for the trade and maintenance of 489 NGV air-conditioned vehicles for the BMTA with a total medium price of 4,020,158,000 baht.

APAC corporates likely to improve in 2021
Moody’s Investors Service says in a new report that credit conditions in APAC will improve in 2021, supported by the gradual recovery of economic activity given the early containment of the pandemic in several Asian economies.

Ongoing fiscal and monetary support in both advanced and emerging markets will also aid improving conditions, but renewed lockdowns in parts of the world have stalled the nascent global economic recovery and create uncertainty around improving credit conditions.
