# Three additional Thai cities join the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has announced that Bangkok, Khon Kaen, and
Yala have become members of the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities (GNLC),
recognizing their efforts to promote lifelong learning.

 * Bangkok, Khon Kaen, and Yala have been recognized by UNESCO as Global Network
   of Learning Cities, highlighting Thailand’s commitment to lifelong learning at
   the local level.
 * Thailand’s membership in the UNESCO GNLC provides opportunities for the country
   to receive guidance, support, and participate in international conferences related
   to developing learning cities.
 * With the addition of these three cities, Thailand now has a total of 10 cities
   in the UNESCO GNLC, showcasing the country’s dedication to promoting learning
   and education.

This membership provides opportunities for Thailand to participate in various activities
and present its candidature to host international conferences.

the network, these cities contribute to making lifelong learning a reality for their
citizens.

As of now, the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities includes **356 member cities**
from around the world. These cities share knowledge and collaborate to pave the 
way for lifelong learning opportunities for approximately **390 million inhabitants.**
The network spans various regions, including Africa, Arab States, Asia and the Pacific,
Europe and North America, and Latin America and the Caribbean.
