In New Delhi, on February 20, 2025, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) highlighted Thailand’s tourism attractions at the South Asia Travel and Tourism Exchange (SATTE) 2025, ongoing until February 21 at Yashobhoomi – India International Convention and Expo Centre. This marks TAT’s 16th participation, using the platform to promote Thailand’s varied travel experiences to Indian tourists. The Thailand stand, spanning 300 square meters, includes information, business networking, and cultural demonstration zones, presented by 50 Thai tourism businesses facilitating B2B collaborations.
Strategic Tourism Initiatives
Ms. Pattaraanong Na Chiangmai, TAT’s Deputy Governor, noted SATTE 2025’s importance in fostering business opportunities, introducing new travel products, and marketing exclusive packages for Indian tourists. Emphasizing Thailand as a top destination under the ‘Amazing Thailand’ brand, TAT aligns with the ‘Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year’ initiative. India, being one of Thailand’s fastest-growing tourism markets, recorded over 2.1 million Indian visitors in 2024, thanks to visa exemptions and robust air connectivity.
Expanding Thai Tourism Amidst Indian Market Growth
Targeting 2.3 million Indian arrivals in 2025, TAT intensifies marketing towards key segments like family, luxury, weddings, and golf tourism. New initiatives like ‘Living it Up in Thailand’ and ‘Celebrations with Care and Inner Shine,’ aim to enhance millennial and wedding travel from India. Thailand’s appeal includes vibrant destinations like Bangkok, Phuket, and emerging spots such as Ko Samui and Chiang Rai. Indian tourists favor beach outings, Thai cuisine, and wellness retreats, with average spending at 34,920 Baht and stays of 6.58 nights.
