Thai Prime Minister Commits to Backing Exhibition Industry

The Prime Minister has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing the exhibition industry, aiming to attract more investment and stimulate economic growth through international events and exhibitions hosted in Thailand.

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra welcomed executives from leading international event organizing and planning companies at Government House. They are visiting Thailand to participate in the Exhibition Industry Summit 2024, organized by the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB).

During the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized the government’s dedication to supporting the business sector with policies that simplify operations, encourage infrastructure development, and position Thailand as a strategic hub for all types of international exhibitions. Event organizers assured the Prime Minister of their intention to expand investments in Thailand, which may include establishing regional headquarters in the country. They cited their confidence in Thailand’s readiness and the supportive atmosphere fostered by the government and relevant agencies.

Officials from TCEB are hopeful that government support will enable the international exhibition industry to drive trade, foster innovation, stimulate economic growth, and attract further foreign investment. This will lead to the creation of more jobs for Thai citizens and establish Thailand as a leader in exhibition organization both regionally and globally.

Government spokesman Jirayu Houngsub announced that the government is developing a new One Stop Service system to facilitate the organization of exhibitions, showcasing Thailand’s strength as a supply chain hub. He noted that international exhibitions offer valuable opportunities for Thailand to enhance its business relationships with world-class partners.
