TFEX extends trading hours for Currency and Precious Metal Futures

TFEX extends trading hours for Currency and Precious Metal Futures

The futures market for trading currency futures will be extended to allow trading from midnight until 3 a.m. the following day, and the trading hours for precious metal futures will be extended to allow continuous trading without a break during the day, in order to align with the global market trading hours. This will start from January 15, 2024.

Ms. Rinjai Chakornpipat, Managing Director of Thailand Futures Exchange Public Company Limited (TFEX), said TFEX is preparing to extend trading hours during the night (Night Session) for Currency Futures products, including USD Futures, EUR/USD Futures and USD/JPY Futures will now be able to be traded until around midnight (11:55 p.m.) to be traded until 3:00 a.m. the next day.

There will be no midday break in order to allow investors to manage risks and adjust trading strategies in line with the increasing movements of currency values and gold prices in the global market. The new trading hours will take effect from January 15, 2567 onwards.

So that investors can manage risk and adjust their trading strategies to keep up with the situation and movements of currency and gold prices in the world market. The new trading hours will be effective from 15 January 2024 onwards as follows.
