Suvarnabhumi international airport has been readied to accommodate some 190,000 passengers daily during the upcoming Songkran holiday.

Airports of Thailand’s (AOT) General Manager for Suvarnabhumi airport Sirote Duangratana said regarding the preparations for the accommodations during the speculated passengers surge during the Songkran holiday that the number of passengers at Suvarnabhumi airport during 11-17 April 2018 is expected to reach 1.35 million or an average of 193,400 passengers per day, marking a 10.4 percent increase from the same period last year.

Suvarnabhumi airport will serve 7,310 flights or 1,040 flights per day, accounting for a 11.2 percent increase from a previous year.

The airport has received requests for 74 chartered flights, mostly being international flights, during the holiday in addition to regular flights.

To cope with such a large number of passengers, Suvarnabhumi airport has established the Airport Operation Center (AOPC) to work as a central coordinator for safety measures and facilitations for passengers. The AOPC, located at Room CIP 5 on the third floor of the passenger terminal will be operable until 20 April 2018.

Passengers departing from Suvarnabhumi airport are advised to arrive at the airport about three hours before the schedule for international flights and two hours before schedule for domestic flights. More information regarding the airport services can be inquired by calling AOT Contact Center 1722 around the clock.
