Easemotion Completes Smart Manufacturing Upgrade, Advances Use of Recycled Fishing Net Fabrics in Activewear

— Guangdong Easemotion Lifestyle Apparel Technology Co., Ltd. (Easemotion), a manufacturer of yoga and activewear serving markets in Europe, North America and Australia, announced the completion of an integrated upgrade to its smart overhead garment conveyor system and manufacturing execution system (MES). The upgrade enables production data collection at the individual operation level and end-to-end visibility into order progress. The company has also moved garments made with fabrics recycled from discarded fishing nets into small-batch production, offering global activewear brands more traceable digital manufacturing and sustainable material options as they face growing delivery, quality and environmental, social and governance (ESG) compliance requirements.

Global activewear brands face overlapping pressures: rising consumer interest in environmentally responsible fabrics, retailers’ demands for reliable delivery and flexible manufacturing of smaller, more varied orders, and tighter scrutiny in European and U.S. markets of PFAS, recycled material claims and supply chain labor practices. Sustainable product plans can be difficult to bring to market when manufacturers cannot combine digital production controls, third-party certifications and the capacity to produce garments using recycled materials. Easemotion says its latest investments are intended to address those challenges.

Easemotion launched the combined conveyor and MES upgrade in June 2026. In traditional garment workshops, workers move cut fabric pieces by hand and track production steps on paper, which can lead to work-in-process backlogs, delays in identifying bottlenecks and limited visibility into order status. Brand customers may receive only periodic production updates.

The newly deployed overhead conveyor system uses radio-frequency identification (RFID) tags to assign a unique identifier to each work-in-process garment. Hangers carrying cut pieces and partially assembled garments move automatically to the appropriate workstations. The MES records processing time, output and rework data at each workstation, with production information displayed on a central workshop dashboard.

According to Easemotion, the upgrade has reduced work-in-process inventory by 30% and substantially cut manual handling time between workstations. Average order production cycles have shortened by 25%, and the on-time order delivery rate has reached 99%. Response times for production bottlenecks have fallen from approximately 30 minutes to a few minutes, while changeover time for small-batch, multi-style orders has also decreased.

“The biggest challenges in yoga and fitness apparel production are often not in any single sewing operation, but in how materials move through the workshop and how visible the information is,” said Amy Chen, founder of Easemotion. “After the upgrade, we can give brand customers more detailed order updates, including real-time completion status for each style, rather than only broad reports at different stages. Workers spend less time moving materials repeatedly, leaving more time for sewing, and potential rework can be flagged earlier. For customers in the United States and Europe, digitalization is not just about factory efficiency. It also provides concrete data for ESG reporting and supply chain audits.”

Easemotion holds ISO 9001:2015 quality management system certification, Global Recycled Standard (GRS) Version 4.0 certification and Organic Content Standard (OCS) Version 3.0 certification, and has undergone an amfori BSCI social responsibility audit. The company also has a PFAS-free test report covering 310 substances. Upon request, it can provide supporting fabric certificates for OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 and the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). Easemotion says certification documents and fabric testing reports are available to customers for compliance reviews.

Major sportswear brands, including Adidas and Puma, have introduced products using materials recovered from discarded fishing nets and ocean plastic, such as jerseys and training apparel. Drawing on those industry initiatives, Easemotion has worked with upstream fabric suppliers to develop samples and begin small-batch production of garments made with recycled yarn derived from discarded fishing nets. The recovered nets are chemically processed and spun into recycled nylon yarn, which is then used in finished yoga leggings and athletic tank tops intended for sale. According to the company, the resulting fabrics retain the stretch and wash durability needed for activewear. It also says GRS chain-of-custody documentation enables tracing of each production batch to upstream sources of recovered marine waste.

Easemotion’s sustainable materials range also includes recycled polyester, recycled cotton and bio-based biodegradable fabrics, supporting customers from sampling through bulk production.

“Sustainable fabrics should be more than a marketing concept. They need to become activewear products that can actually be manufactured and sold,” Amy Chen said. “Many brands want to launch collections featuring recycled materials but face unreliable supply, gaps in traceability and fabric performance that falls short of activewear requirements. We want brands working with Easemotion to receive more than finished garments: a traceable, scalable manufacturing process that can be reviewed by third-party auditors.”
