demands, and enables continuous livestock feeding operations_**

IRVINE, Calif., Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — [Getac North America](https://www.getac.com/us/)(
Getac), a leading provider of rugged computing and mobile video solutions and a
manufacturer with advanced in-house capabilities, today announced that MWI Animal
Health has deployed Getac [ZX10](https://www.getac.com/us/products/tablets/zx10/)
fully rugged Android tablets to support its precision feed management operations
across beef and dairy farms throughout North America.

The global agricultural industry faces a defining challenge: Feeding an additional
2.5 billion people by 2050 will require a 70% increase in food production, placing
pressure on every link in the food supply chain, including animal nutrition. Yet
managing animal feed remains a fragmented, high-stakes process spanning three critical
phases: calling, making, and delivering the feed. Errors or inefficiencies at any
stage can impact food security, sustainability, and animal welfare. MWI Animal Health
addresses this challenge with technology that supports the complete feed management
lifecycle, bringing consistency and operational control to an industry where precision
is increasingly critical.

"MWI Animal Health is doing important work to support a growing global food supply,
and we’re proud the ZX10 is at the center of that mission," said Charlie Gibbs,
Director of Product Solutions at Getac North America. "This deployment demonstrates
how rugged technology can support highly specialized workflows when aligned to the
right environment and operational needs."

For example, bunk readers assess cattle three to four times daily, calculating precise
dietary requirements based on age, weight, gender, and environmental conditions.
These are demands the Getac ZX10 was purpose-built to support. GPS-enabled trucks
distribute 30,000-to-35,000-pound loads evenly across farm bunks, ensuring every
animal receives proper nutrition at its regular feeding spot, with the fully rugged
ZX10 serving as the central control hub for MWI’s "Read and Feed" system throughout
every run.

Mounted in MWI’s custom 3D-printed cradles with 12-volt power connections, the tablet
operates continuously across a temperature range of -20°F to 145°F (-29°C to 63°
C), withstanding dust, shock, and vibration. It transmits delivery data to facility
servers in real time via Wi-Fi and integrates with truck-mounted scales via Bluetooth
for live ingredient weight monitoring, enabling precise tracking from assessment
to delivery.

"Windows-based systems created deployment and maintenance challenges for our use
case. Android provides a kiosk where it can only do what we want it to do, making
it highly efficient," said Patrick Russell, Field IT Service and Support Supervisor
at MWI Animal Health. "The Getac ZX10 meets all our objectives: affordability, reliability,
durability, ease of deployment, and an excellent user experience."

Since deploying the ZX10, MWI has achieved measurable operational improvements across
its feed management workflows, including:

 ◦ **Reduced feed waste: **The system’s nearly 100% billing and tracking accuracy
helps ensure accurate feed allocation and delivery validation.
 ◦ **Decreased IT time in the field: **Leveraging ManageEngine for mass updates
significantly reduced the time IT teams spend on-site for deployments.
 ◦ **Expanded access to precision feeding: **The Android platform’s lower cost has
brought the technology within reach of smaller operations beyond MWI’s 400 main
   commercial feed yards.
 ◦ **Supported production efficiency: **Precise feeding practices, combined with
advances in technology and process consistency, have helped increase harvest
weights from approximately 1,200 pounds to 1,500 pounds or more while improving
   operational efficiency.

"We’ve built a tremendous relationship with Getac," said Max Koster, Senior Director
of Sales at MWI Animal Health. "Their sales and corporate teams took the time to
understand our operations and our unique needs. For us to achieve our 2050 goals,
we don’t just need a supplier. We need a partner, not just someone selling us a
tablet."

Getac remains committed to providing technology that supports operational performance
across critical food production systems. By equipping agricultural and field teams
with dependable, high-performance tools they can rely on, Getac helps organizations
improve efficiency, reduce waste, and strengthen resilience across critical food
production systems.
