CHANGZHOU, China, Oct. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — October 15–16 saw State Grid Changzhou Power Supply Company launch autumn maintenance work at Maoshan Scenic Area Substation in Jintan and Wuyi Substation, including transformer capacity expansion installation and routine autumn inspections of main transformers. The scheduled work lays a solid foundation for the safe and stable operation of the regional power grid during the winter peak power demand period.
Main grid substations serve as pivotal hubs for regional power supply. Leveraging the window of relatively moderate power load, this round of autumn inspections focuses on overhauling and calibrating main transformers and their protection and control circuits within the service area. Maintenance for auxiliary systems covering fire protection, communications and DC power supplies is carried out concurrently.
On October 15, the oil conservator of the transformer at Maoshan Scenic Area Substation was hoisted into place to support the main transformer capacity expansion project, which will boost power supply capacity during peak tourist seasons at the scenic site. The following day, equipment inspection and circuit calibration proceeded in an orderly manner at Wuyi Substation. In recent days, Yangang, Xigang and Longshan substations have also taken advantage of scheduled power outages to complete maintenance of fire-fighting equipment, communication device upkeep, electricity meter replacement and wiring adjustment for auxiliary power supplies, steadily finishing all inspection and defect elimination tasks.
A core objective of the autumn inspection campaign is to identify hidden equipment faults that are difficult to detect amid heavy summer loads, facilitate prompt rectification of defects and improve the overall health of substation assets. The combined approach of centralized overhaul and targeted special remediation will place grid equipment in a more dependable condition to cope with rising winter electricity consumption.
Moving forward, State Grid Changzhou Power Supply Company will press ahead with remaining autumn inspection assignments, track the rectification of identified defects and adjust operation and maintenance plans in response to load fluctuations. These efforts will ensure all grid equipment enters the winter operating cycle in sound condition.
