# State Grid Changzhou Power Supply Company Helps Accelerate Power Supply Supporting Facilities for CATL New Energy Project Again

CHANGZHOU, China, Oct. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Recently, the N10 to N11 section 
of the 220 kV line project from Ganxi to Shidai Xinke carried out work crossing 
the Nanjing-Hangzhou High-Speed Railway for the first time. State Grid Changzhou
Power Supply Company used drones to send guide ropes across the high-speed railway
twice in succession, preparing for the subsequent deployment of the first ground
wire and one phase conductor respectively. This section, the most difficult and 
highest-risk along the entire line, has thus entered the stage of stringing work
across the high-speed railway, laying the foundation for the subsequent completion
and connection of the line.

The project is located in Liyang, Changzhou, Jiangsu. The line runs from Ganxi Substation
to the planned Shidai Substation and is erected with double-circuit lines on the
same tower. Among them, the span between the two towers N10 and N11 is 469 meters,
crossing in sequence along the line direction a 110 kV line, the Nanxi River, the
G25 Changchun-Shenzhen Expressway, and the Nanjing-Hangzhou High-Speed Railway. 
Multiple crossings are concentrated within the same span, so construction must take
into account both the protection of existing power lines and the river channel, 
as well as expressway traffic and compliance with railway operation arrangements.
It is a key section of the entire line’s construction.

The railway construction window is scheduled from 0:00 to 4:00 each day. Railway
blockade, confirmation of catenary power outage and grounding, and final inspections
must all be completed within the window, leaving only three hours for the main stringing
procedures, and the procedures in each nighttime window must be closely coordinated.

To use the limited window for key procedures, the project team of State Grid Changzhou
Power Supply Company carried out preparatory work in advance. The two towers N10
and N11 were erected first, the tensioning site, crane positioning, and crossing
protection were arranged according to the plan, and tools and communication equipment
were checked item by item. Before formal operations, on-site personnel re-verified
equipment, personnel, and safety conditions, and clarified the tasks for each position
that night.

The guide rope crossing the expressway was first sent across during the daytime,
so when the nighttime railway window opened, a guide rope was already in place to
receive it at the expressway crossing section. In the early morning, after the railway
construction permit was issued and the catenary power outage and grounding were 
confirmed, construction personnel used drones to send the primary guide rope across
the high-speed railway. According to the on-site arrangements, the conductors of
the two circuits and the two ground wires are planned to complete crossing deployment
over four nights. Subsequently, tensioning equipment will pull the ropes level by
level, completing the deployment and tensioning and attachment of conductors and
ground wires in batches.

Chu Guowei, Director of the Project Management Center of State Grid Changzhou Power
Supply Company, introduced that the CATL New Energy Phase VI project plans to build
cell production lines as well as module and battery pack assembly lines, with an
expected electricity load of approximately 210,500 kW. After the project is completed
and commissioned, the two 220 kV circuits will connect Ganxi Substation with the
enterprise user substation. According to the connection plan, when one circuit is
withdrawn, the other circuit has the capacity to bear the entire load of the project,
providing dual-circuit power supply assurance for the project’s production.
