Sukha Samui Resort + Spa Answers Demand for Affordable Luxury in Koh Samui Launching in Hong Kong at Solas, March 23rd Sukha Samui Resort + Spa is set to provide an affordable option to luxury seeking travelers in Koh Samui and will officially launch its sales phase in Hong Kong on March 23rd.
At room rates expected to be in the mid-range of USD$150-200 per night, Sukha Samui will be fulfilling a niche that is now lacking in the area. The building of the 39 units, all one-bedroom suites, will start in May 2010, and is expected to be complete by Spring 2011. Once launched, the 51 square metre one-bedroom units will sell for USD$150,000, with 5-year 50% financing offered by the developer, Create Asia Land. Owners are guaranteed 7% net yield for five years, after which returns are expected to be at least 8% per year.
The resort, set amongst the lush mountains of north-east Koh Samui, will be operated under a unique business model, with three streams of revenue sources based on the company’s strong wellness principles: group retreats hosted by holistic teachers, customized corporate wellness workshops and conferences, and individual travelers seeking a personal retreat or integrated detox programmes.
The hillside location boasting stunning sea views will also house a 2,000sqft yoga pavilion, a rejuvenation spa overseen by the founder of one of Asia’s most successful day spa chains, a 20m infinity pool, and a café serving healthy menu options. “Following a world-wide trend, the past few years have seen a major popularity surge in yoga and healthy living across Asia,” says Tingting Peng, Executive Director of Create Asia Land and certified yoga instructor.
“Sukha Samui aims to become an integral part of this growing industry, providing affordable holiday retreats for people seeking more in their lives.” Sukha is a Sanskrit word meaning “bliss” – a simple desire and a universal right. With a marketing campaign cunningly playing on the slogan “It’s ok to be blissed off”, Sukha Samui will be targeted towards working professionals finding more ways to achieve that ultimate happiness in life, through making lasting lifestyle choices.

“Thailand is definitely still one of the best places in the world to own an investment property and Sukha Samui provides unbeatable value in a very high-end market.”
The resort’s modern chic design with a touch of Thai influences is the result of a successful partnership between Point Studio Architects, the Thailand-based firm responsible for high-end resort projects including Dusit Samui, and award-winning Malaysia-based Palladio Interiors. Backed by strong experience in property investment, Create Asia Land is a Hong Kong based company dedicated to becoming a leader in the health and wellness industry through the development of unique resorts, supported by sustainable agriculture and other eco-friendly, zero impact projects.
