The Stock Exchange of Thailand and DSI meet with the Prime Minister to report on progress, implement measures, and restore confidence in the Thai capital market.
Mr. Asadet Kongsiri, Director and Manager of the Stock Exchange of Thailand, together with Mrs. Pornanong Busaratkul, Secretary-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and Pol. Lt. Col. Yuthana Paedham, Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), met with the Prime Minister at Government House today (March 17, 2023) to report on the current situation of the Thai capital market while presenting the progress of various measures that will help strengthen the Thai capital market.
On this occasion, they reported on the progress of the legal actions in the capital market, which received full cooperation from the relevant agencies. Additionally, the Stock Exchange proposed projects that have been implemented to develop the capital market and listed companies, including the JUMP+ project, which is designed to enhance the value of listed companies in order to foster growth for the Thai capital market. They also reported on the progress of improving various measures and criteria, and currently, they are open to public comments on the “Review of Short Selling and HFT Regulation” to ensure that the regulatory measures are appropriate for the current trading conditions, with comments accepted until March 31, 2023.
