Phuket won the 2024 IFEA World Festival & Event City award. Thailand also secured eight Pinnacle Awards, highlighting festivals and programs in Phuket, Pattaya, and Chiang Mai for exceptional achievements.

Phuket’s Prestigious Recognition

On October 3, 2024, Thailand’s Phuket was honored with the “2024 IFEA World Festival & Event City” title by the International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA). This makes Phuket the third city from Thailand, following Chiang Mai and Sukhothai, to receive this renowned accolade. The announcement coincided with the IFEA Annual Convention & Expo, held on September 29, 2024, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Pinnacle Awards Achievements

During the prestigious event, Thailand celebrated multiple victories with eight Pinnacle Awards. The Phuket Vegetarian Festival claimed the Silver Grand Pinnacle Award, while the Phuket Peranakan Festival and the Chinese New Year Festival both secured Gold for Best Parade. Additionally, the Chinese New Year Festival also achieved Silver for Best Volunteer Programme, and the Thailand Coffee Fest 2023 won Gold for Best Green Programme.

Thailand’s Continued Success

Thailand’s success didn’t stop there. BICT on the MOVE 2023 won Best Children’s Programming, and the Pattaya International Firework Festival received Gold for Best Emergency Preparedness. Furthermore, Chiang Mai Blooms took Gold for Best Video Promotion. These awards highlight the collaborative efforts of the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) and its partners, showcasing Thailand’s ongoing excellence in the realm of festivals and events.
