From 1 May 2025, Thailand will transition from paper arrival cards to the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC). All international visitors will be required to complete the electronic form before entering the country.

Key Takeaways

  • Starting from 1 May 2025, all foreign visitors entering Thailand must submit their arrival information electronically through the new Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) system, replacing the current paper arrival card.
  • The TDAC can be completed up to three days before the scheduled arrival date, and it is mandatory for all foreign passport holders, except for those transiting or transferring without passing through immigration control and those using a Border Pass.
  • Travelers are encouraged to complete the TDAC online in advance to avoid delays and reduce congestion at entry points, and assistance will be provided at designated help points for exceptional circumstances.

Introduction to the Thailand Digital Arrival Card

Starting 1 May 2025, the Thailand Immigration Bureau will introduce the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), replacing the traditional paper card for foreign nationals. This change mandates that all foreign visitors, irrespective of their entry mode—air, land, or sea—must provide their arrival details electronically before reaching Thailand. The digital initiative aims to streamline immigration procedures, alleviate paperwork burdens, and bolster convenience for travelers. Completing the online form is mandatory and requires essential personal and travel information prior to arrival.

Detailed Guidelines and Exceptions

The TDAC submission is obligatory for all foreign passport holders, including tourists and business travelers. However, exceptions exist for those transiting without entering immigration control or utilizing a Border Pass. Travelers should submit their TDAC up to three days before their expected arrival date. For instance, arrivals on 5 May can begin submissions on 2 May. The system opens on 28 April for early submissions, specifically catering to those arriving on the launch date.

Travellers may submit the TDAC up to three days before their scheduled arrival date. For example, if arriving on 5 May, submission can begin on 2 May. The system will open for submissions starting 28 April to accommodate those arriving on the launch date.

To complete the form, travellers should visit the Immigration Bureau’s official website:

Support and Additional Resources

To complete the TDAC, travelers are directed to the Immigration Bureau’s official website. Submissions can be made individually or in groups with the option to update details pre-travel. Key information includes passport and personal details, travel specifics, accommodation, and a basic health declaration. In exceptional cases where online submission isn’t possible, help points at immigration checkpoints are available. It’s advised to complete the TDAC beforehand to avoid delays. For further assistance, travelers can visit the TDAC Portal or consult the user guide and FAQs.
