On December 17, 2025, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) celebrated a significant achievement, welcoming the one millionth visitor from the United Kingdom. This marks the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic that UK arrivals have crossed this milestone, coinciding with long-haul arrivals surpassing 10 million, the highest on record. The celebration took place at Suvarnabhumi Airport with Thai Airways International’s TG911 flight, symbolizing a promising recovery for Thailand’s tourism sector.
Enhancing UK-Thai Tourism Relations
The TAT Governor, Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, emphasized the importance of the UK market, highlighting initiatives to promote longer stays and off-peak travel. The one millionth visitor was honored with gifts showcasing Thailand’s premium tourism offerings, such as flights, accommodations, and wellness packages.
