Foreign and trade ministers from Southeast Asian nations met in the Thai seaside resort town of Hua Hin.They met, seeking ways to expand trade ties at a time when the global financial meltdown has led to job losses and recession, prompting talks of protectionism in several countries. Both Indonesia and Malaysia have begun “buy local products” campaigns despite promoting more open trade.
