广汽集团的Inpow电池新工厂在泰国正式投产,推出首款本地电池组,标志着东南亚新能源汽车供应链的扩大,投资达16.3亿美元。
Inpow Battery Technology, a subsidiary of GAC Group, celebrated the opening of its new factory in Thailand on October 29, marking a significant milestone with the production of its first locally manufactured power battery pack. This expansion reflects Inpow’s commitment to strengthening the supply chain for new energy vehicles (NEVs) in Southeast Asia and exporting its manufacturing capabilities to international markets.
Earlier in October, Inpow reached a production landmark, announcing the cumulative global production of 300,000 battery packs. These battery packs have been integrated into various GAC models, including i60, N60, and UT. The investment in this project amounts to 10.9 billion RMB (approximately $1.63 billion) and emphasizes the company’s full-stack, independent R&D and production capabilities for power and energy storage batteries.
Additionally, GAC Thailand recently celebrated its third anniversary, having registered a total of 34,898 vehicles since entering the market in 2023. The dealership network has expanded rapidly to 73 locations across 40 provinces, with a manufacturing facility operating at full capacity, capable of producing up to 50,000 vehicles annually. GAC is also expanding its charging network in Thailand, with over 300 charging stations and more than 1,000 DC fast charging points available nationwide.
