Central Retail Corporation Collaborates with Central Tham for Farmers’ Market

Central Retail Corporation Public Company Limited (CRC) partnered with Central Tham, the Central Group’s sustainability project, to organize the “Jing Jai Maha….Nakorn” Farmers’ Market. The market brought together agricultural products directly from farmers across Thailand’s regions and featured over 1,000 local goods, organic fruits and vegetables, processed products, and handicrafts. The event, held at Central World from June 21-25, 2023, aimed to support grassroots economic development and provide farmers with a stable income.

Opening Ceremony with Distinguished Guests

The opening ceremony of the Farmers’ Market was attended by Mr. Keerati Rushchano, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, and executives from Central Group and Thai Watsadu. The ceremony highlighted the different zones of the market, including Central Tham’s highlighted projects and the Thai Organic Consumers Association booth. The event aimed to promote sustainable practices and offset greenhouse gas emissions.

Central Retail’s Efforts in Empowering Farmers

Central Retail Corporation has been actively working with farmers to expand distribution channels and increase the value of agricultural products. The success of the Jing Jai Farmers’ Market project has provided farmers with direct access to consumers and generated over 1,094 million baht in revenue for the community. The project has also become a model for environmentally-friendly and plastic-free markets. Central Retail plans to further expand the Farmers’ Market to additional provinces in Thailand, creating inclusive growth and sustainable livelihoods for farmers.
