Thailand unveils 5 billion baht plan for tourism growth
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has announced its plan for fiscal year 2024 with a budget of $144.2 million, which aims to increase off-peak tourism, boost spending per trip by 7%, and distribute income to a greater number of destinations.
TAT targets 1 million Indian travellers within this year
India is a significant source of tourists for Thailand. Since January 1, 2022, Thailand has welcomed 743,336 Indian tourists, making India the country’s largest source market this year, behind Malaysia. Between 900,000 and 1 million Indian tourists are anticipated to visit Thailand this year.
TAT announces winners of Responsible Thailand Awards 2022
The Responsible Thailand Awards have attracted increasingly greater attention each year since their debut. 1,602 Thai tourism enterprises were nominated for the 2022 awards, almost three times as many as for the awards that were last held in 2020.
