Founded in 1980, BWU is a university specializing in logistics and distribution, and about 8,000 students are enrolled in its nine undergraduate faculties covering 28 departments. One of these faculties, the school of logistics established in 2006, ranks among China’s best in the field and offers well-equipped educational facilities and a favorable research environment.
NX China signed a letter of intent on strategic cooperation with BWU in 2012 and has since continued industrial-academic collaborative efforts that include creating NX Scholarships and offering endowed lectures.
East Asia Regional General Manager Sumitoshi Matsuo presented this latest endowed lecture, which introduced the NX Group, discussed the customers’ changing demands on logistics companies, and offered example case studies of proposals to customers. He wrapped up the lecture by commenting, “I sensed the students’ enthusiasm for logistics, and I hope they will become personnel capable of contributing to the logistics industry on a global scale in future.” Approximately 120 students attended this lecture, and many of them remarked that they had gained a deeper understanding of the changing needs of the logistics industry.
The NX Group will continue actively engaging in social contribution activities in the East Asia region to help develop human resources who can play active roles in the logistics industry.
