The poor weather has kept the usually steady stream of tourists at bay on this particular weekend and the beach at Klong Son Bay is deserted apart from two girls collecting shells near the shoreline.

At Siam Royal View, the island’s first luxury residential resort, and the only one on this bay, Roland Steiner, project founder and CEO, leads the way to his contemporary, Thai-designed beachfront villa.
