The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) recently hosted the Foreign Industrial Club (FIC) 2023 Gala Dinner, bringing together Thai and foreign entrepreneurs. With the theme ‘Reforming Thailand,’ the event provided a platform for business discussions and aimed to boost economic confidence.
Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Srettha Thavisin inaugurated the dinner, highlighting Thailand’s challenges, including a stagnant economy, the pandemic, technological advancements, and climate change. To address these issues, the government aims to transform Thailand into a technology-driven economy, upgrade agriculture, expand the EV industry, develop sustainable tourism, and establish high-standard medical facilities.
Enhancing Industrial Competitiveness
The Federation of Thai Industries is committed to enhancing the competitiveness of the industrial sector. Through the establishment of the Foreign Industrial Club (FIC), they hope to promote trade and investment between the private and government sectors, diplomatic missions, and foreign investors. This initiative aims to explore new targets and foster connections between Thai and foreign entities.
Vice Chairman of the FTI, Mr. Vichaow Rakphongphairoj, highlighted the collaboration between foreign investors and local businesses, which has strengthened the supply chain, elevating Thailand’s industrial capabilities and positioning it as a regional economic powerhouse.
