Thailand Travel Mart Plus 2025 Achieves Carbon Neutrality
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is thrilled to announce the achievement of Carbon Neutral Event Self Declaration status at the Thailand Travel Mart Plus (TTM+) 2025, held in Chiang Mai from 4 to 6 June. This achievement underscores Thailand’s dedication to sustainable tourism and environmental stewardship.
Commitment to Responsible Tourism
TAT Governor Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool emphasized that sustainability is central to TAT’s initiatives. “TTM+ exemplifies our mission to promote responsible tourism benefiting both communities and the environment. Achieving Carbon Neutral status at TTM+ 2025 showcases our vision in action.” TAT collaborated with the Provincial Electricity Authority to manage and offset emissions, setting a benchmark for low-impact tourism events.
Environmental Achievements and Community Impact
The event reduced emissions by 669.84 kgCO₂eq and diverted over 1,080 kilograms of waste through sorting and recycling. Collaborating with Central Tham and Recycle Day, TAT ensured responsible waste management, turning organic waste into biogas. Surplus meals were donated, supporting nearby communities and extending the event’s positive impact. TTM+ 2025 attracted 406 buyers from 51 countries, reinforcing Thailand’s tourism hub status.
